Background and history

Incorporated in November 2008, White & Company is borne out of two of North West’s leading regional practices, Lopian Gross Barnett (“LGB”) and Chadwick LLP (“Chadwick”).

The two founding Directors, Ben White and Emma White, have a combined experience base of over 25 years in the accountancy industry.

Ben White

Having been in the profession for more than 15 years Ben spent 11 of those years until 2008 progressing through the ranks of Lopian Gross Barnett (“LGB”), gaining various promotions from audit senior to eventually become partner in 2006 at the age of 30. As a true general practioner Ben has extensive knowledge and experience in accountancy, audit, taxation, corporate finance and business consultancy which he uses to the full benefit of his clients by indentifying opportunities to add value and make improvements to their financial position. Through Ben’s management skills and determination he also ensures that these opportunities are maximised and delivered on.

During his later years at LGB Ben won many new clients for the firm and also developed a Corporate Finance division within the firm which achieved many milestones including the completion of its first AIM market floatation in 2006.

During Ben’s time at LGB a large proportion of his work involved the provision of tax planning advice to both companies and individuals. Due to LGB’s strong reputation in the field of International tax planning Ben also gained a considerable amount of experience in cross border trading and dealt with many group restructuring exercises.

On 1st November 2008 Ben completed the buy-out of his part of LGB which involved him transferring his clients and staff to White & Company.

Since the launch of White & Company, Ben has attracted a large number of new clients to the practice through his excellent reputation in tax planning and corporate finance.

Emma White

Having been in the profession for more than 10 years, Emma has spent the last 5 years until 2008 at Chadwick LLP gaining various promotions to achieve the position of senior manager and director designate in December 2006 at the age of 28. Emma performed a varied role at Chadwick providing extensive knowledge and experience in accountancy, audit, corporate finance and business development. Emma’s day to day role included managing the audit department of 16 staff as well as overseeing her own audit porfolio comprised of OMB’s, large companies, SME’s, Colleges and AIM listed companies and undertaking a variety of corporate finance assignments including due diligence, AIM floatations, reporting accountant assignments, forecasting, business planning and grant applications.

Emma has extensive knowledge in audit, UK GAAP and IFRS compliance, corporate finance and business consultancy, enabling her to build excellent long term relationships with clients and provide exceptional service to help in their success and assist their businesses to thrive.

Since the launch of White & Company, Emma has attracted a number of new clients to the practice through her strong reputation in audit, accountancy, corporate finance and business development.
